COLLECTING ART by Felicity Johnston, Director, Art Collective WA

Director of Art Collective WA, Felicity Johnston is a former curator of the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery and Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art at UWA. She is a registered valuer for the Australian Government Cultural Gifts Program and edits regular art publications.

ABORIGINAL ART Q+A by Emilia Galatis, Aboriginal Art Advocate

Aboriginal art advocate Emilia Galatis has travelled and worked in the remote lands of WA learning about Aboriginal art since the age of 22. Emilia managed Revealed, an annual art exhibition for emerging Aboriginal artists at Fremantle Art Centre this year.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Join one of the UK’s leading artists, Becky Blair, fresh from her successful solo show in her hometown of Brighton. Becky Blair is coming to Fremantle, offering an exclusive 2-day workshop, where she will share techniques building layers to intensify colour and texture. Participants will create their own work using acrylic on canvas with valuable feedback and guidance from Becky. With 20 years experience Becky will help you to understand and develop your personal painting practice. Suitable for beginner and advanced artists.

 

WHAT YOU WILL GET

All materials—canvas, acrylic paints, brushes—are provided, as well as delicious treats and endless cups of tea.

 

ABOUT BECKY

UK artist Becky Blair studied Fine Art, graduating in 1994, and has been a professional artist ever since. Becky has exhibited internationally in New York, London, Brighton, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Sydney and Perth and has been commissioned privately and commercially. Becky has exhibited in the past two AOHF events and her work sells quickly.
